SUEZ environnement becomes SUEZ

Resource management group SUEZ environnement has shortened its name to SUEZ, following the re-branding of GDF-SUEZ to ENGIE earlier this year.

SUEZ environnement becomes SUEZ

This is the second time in one year that the French group, which operates in more than 70 countries, has made changes to its name, after it unified all of its global business unit brands, including SITA UK, under the single name of SUEZ environnement in March.

However, in April 2015, the energy branch of the group, GDF-SUEZ, announced that it would become ENGIE, so the waste management and water management group has now dropped the ‘environnement’ section of its name, to become SUEZ. The website and social media outlets of the company are expected to be updated in due course.

The change from SUEZ environnement to SUEZ was approved by the group’s board of directors yesterday (28 July) and will see all UK business units operating within the group henceforth be known as SUEZ and referred to by their division name.

For example, the UK-based waste management unit formerly known as SITA UK will now be known as the Recycling and Recovery UK division of SUEZ.
