A fire that broke out on Monday at Peter Bacon Recycling in King’s Lynn, Norfolk is expected to keep burning for three more days as fire crews attempt to put it out.

The argument over the future of the UK’s residual waste treatment capacity has reopened today, after the ESA published a review of previous reports and reiterated the prediction that six million tonnes of residual waste will have nowhere to go in the UK by 2030.

European waste management firm SUEZ has signed a joint venture agreement with plastics manufacturer LyondellBasell that will see ‘high-quality circular polymers’ created for packaging from plastic waste from across Europe.
