Vecoplan unveils VVB Wood Pre Breaker for efficient waste wood processing
New primary crusher processes diverse wood materials including waterlogged bark, large logs, and demolition wood for energy recovery.
Vecoplan has introduced its latest innovation in wood processing technology - the VVB Wood Pre Breaker. This primary crusher has been engineered to efficiently crush and shred a diverse range of waste wood materials for energy recovery, offering high throughput rates and reliability.
At the heart of the VVB is a solid steel rotor with an enormous flywheel mass, enabling it to break down various wood materials. The machine can process fresh bark with up to 60 percent water content, logs up to 400 millimetres in diameter, and pile caps up to 1,000 millimetres in diameter. It's equally capable of handling roots, stumps, log yard residues, sawdust, short waste wood, pre-crushed pallets, and demolition wood.
The machine's shredding tools are arranged in an M-shape on the rotor, ensuring quiet operation. Despite the substantial flywheel mass, the rotor can achieve standstill in less than five minutes, balancing power with safety.
Tailored performance and durability
Vecoplan has designed the VVB to handle large throughput quantities, with the ability to customise the machine for specific customer applications. The primary crusher can produce fuel in particle sizes ranging from P45 to P100, in compliance with DIN EN ISO 17225 standards.
To ensure longevity and reliable operation, the VVB incorporates key safety features. It includes a pivoting counter knife and screen unit secured by shear bolts, allowing it to withstand up to two per cent of impurities without damage. Once impurities are removed, the counter knife and screen unit automatically return to the operating position.
Different tool configurations are available depending on the intended use, with the added benefit of being usable on both sides and partially changeable. This feature helps to reduce operational costs for users.
