Reconomy acquires resource management consultancy Helistrat

Reconomy, a provider of outsourced waste management solutions, has announced the acquisition of resource management consultancy, Helistrat.

Helistrat is based in Portsmouth, with offices in Glasgow, and specialises in the delivery of holistic waste management and resource strategies to clients operating across numerous business sectors.

The acquisition of Helistrat is the latest in a line of investments by Reconomy in recent times. Waste brokerage business, Waste Check, was acquired in January of this year, while Cory Environmental’s waste brokerage businesses were acquired in 2016, as well as Countryside Waste Management Ltd and Network Waste back in 2015.

Following the latest addition to its portfolio, Reconomy – which annually manages around three million tonnes of waste – is forecasting revenues of £165 million by the end of 2018.

Commenting on the acquisition, Chief Executive of Reconomy Paul Cox said: “We are very pleased to be able to announce this latest acquisition by the Reconomy Group of Companies. This is an important step for Reconomy, enabling us to extend our sustainability and waste management offering into a broader range of clients and commercial sectors.

“Everyone at Helistrat shares our vision of bringing about change to the waste industry by introducing new technologies that will make the process of dealing with waste far easier and more transparent for our clients.

“Despite Reconomy’s continued expansion, we place significant emphasis on customer satisfaction and are committed to ensuring we exceed our clients’ KPIs and timeframes wherever possible. Last year, we managed an average of 90,000 waste movements each month, an exceptional 98.9 per cent of which were completed to our clients’ satisfaction.”
