Recolight announces new appointments to Board of Directors

Recolight has announced the appointment of two members to the board: Robert Sprott of Signify to the Recolight Board and Andreas Adam of LEDVANCE as Chair of the Board.

A waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) compliance scheme specialising in integrated lamp and luminaire recycling, Recolight gives its customers access to free collection services in order to prevent the amount of lighting that ends up in landfill.

Andreas Adam and Robert SprottThe Recolight board was established in 2005 by Tungsram, Feilo Sylvania, LEDVANCE and Signify, and has four non-Executive Directors representing each of their founding members.

Sprott, Service Manager at Signify, acts as a replacement for Maurice Spee, who is retiring from both Signify and the Recolight after 20 years of service.

Adam, Head of WEEE at LEDVANCE, joins having previously worked in the lighting industry for over 20 years, sitting on the board of six European WEEE compliance schemes.

They will accompany the two existing directors, who were both welcomed to the board in 2019: Andrew Clark, Financial Controller at Feilo Sylvania UK, and David Nauth, Commercial Director at the Tungsram Group.

On joining the Recolight Board, Sprott said: “I join Recolight in exciting times.  Scheme membership is increasing, and there is a great team of dedicated staff.”

On taking over the role of Chair, Adam said: “During my five years on the Recolight Board I’ve seen the team grow and the services offered expand. I look forward to helping the company support its Members in building a circular economy in the lighting sector.”

Recolight Chief Executive, Nigel Harvey, commented: “We are delighted that Robert has joined the board, and to have Andreas heading up the board as Chair.

“The breadth of experience and knowledge of our board is invaluable to us as we expand the range of services we offer to meet the changing needs of our Producer Members and collection partners.”
