Patrik Fogelström appointed as BioBag CEO

The Board of BioBag International AS has appointed Patrik Fogelström as the new CEO of the BioBag Group, a producer of compostable and biodegradable products.

bio bag Patrik will also become Managing Director of the parent company BioBag International AS – inquired in 2021 by the Novamont Group, which develops and produces biochemicals and compostable bioplastics.

Patrik has worked in several senior management positions over the past 30 years, from start-ups to multinational companies such as Tetra Pak. He has also worked in business-to-business services and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environments. Over this time, he has built significant experience in the packaging sector.

In an announcement, Novamont Group highlighted Fogelström’s career-long investment in leadership, strategy, sales, and marketing, being responsible for the business and its strategy at ‘various international locations’.

Patrik holds a Master of Science in Business and Economics from the University of Lund and completed various Executive Management programs at the University of Manchester and IMD Lausanne.

BioBag International’s previous CEO, Kjell Ivar Bache, will remain in the group for ‘a period of time to ensure a seamless transition’.

Commenting on the new role, Patrik said: “The BioBag Group is an extremely exciting business with great potential. I am looking forward to a close cooperation with all parts of the Group in order to pursue our strategy and achieve our growth targets as well as financial goals.”
