The House of Commons (HoC) has formally appointed 10 new Members of Parliament (MPs) to the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (EFRA) Committee, who will serve alongside Chairman Neil Parish.

The role of the EFRA Committee is to examine the expenditure, policy and administration of the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra).

The new EFRA Committee, appointed on Thursday (9 July), is due to meet for the first time this week to discuss its enquiry programme for the coming months.

Parish will spearhead the committee’s oversight duties after being elected as Chair last month (17 June).
